Once an avid hunter the Circle K came about as a result of my wanting to have a safe place to take my son hunting.  From its initial purchase in the mid 80's the farm, located in Lewisburg, Tennessee, has been a work in progress.  When purchased, the property consisted of woods - woods - and more woods!  Tractors and dozers made headway a little at a time and after a while we built a small house .  Never one to just let be, we found more and more ideas for our 200+ acres.  The building of one barn led to the need for another.  Clearing the land where we didn't want the dozer to go lead us to our initial purchase of brush goats.

     Not knowing alot about goats we initially purchased a herd of brush goats to clear the land.  They didn't dissapoint us as thay devoured everything that got in their way.  These guys sure could eat!  Over the years we had to cull down the herd.  Finally, we decided to get rid of all our brush goats and concentrate on raising only boer goats. 

     As our interest in boer goats grew we sought to learn as much as possible about the breed.  Over the past few years we have read books, talked to people, searched the net, and gone to many private goat shows and sales in order to learn more about the breed.  Along the way we have been lucky enough to meet some very helpful and knowledgable folks at the ABGA and IBGA shows we attended.     

     We wanted to have the best possible genitics in our buck and breeding herd to build on.  We originally purchased several does and a buck with 75% to 100% South African bloodlines. The  bloodlines include: NicoBotha, TABU and TAMU (both ennobled), African Amos and African Amy, Burger, Kaptein (ennobled), and LSBG African Arnold.  Included are also genetics from several National and Reserve Champions.  We have made every attempt to purchase and breed only stock having the massive bulk and show quality features that are desired by top breeders.

     Since our initial purchase we have added several brood does with impressive genetics to our herd.  These include Bodacious, Benz, Kalamazoo, Ubora, and Tri-Quest Tsjaka.  Most recently, we have decided to introduce some red genetics into part of our breeding program.  Our herd includes several painted does with very nice markings and genetics to match.
