Among other things, I have also redesigned a number of web sites. It has been my experience
that a number of people have tried cheap or free hosting and tried to do it themselves (or had a friend
design and maintain their site), and then they reach a certain point where they understand the value
of a web site, but lack either the expertise or the time to design and maintain one. Often, these sites
are filled with common amateur design flaws.
Pricing for Site redesign is difficult to quote (without looking at the site that needs redesigning.
The Circle K site was only 5 pages, so redesigning was the same as starting a new 5 page design. On
the other end, the C&H Livestock site was nearly 40 pages. A one size fits all quote is just not
appropriate. With that said, the prices I have charged for redesign do not deviate too far from my
basic prices (often just $50 or $100 more than brand new design - simply because there are more pages).
I have also done a lot of site reviews (to give honest feedback on their site design). The review
is often very blunt - but it is very constructive. A few of the reviewed sites have taken measures
to improve (and a few have remained the same).
